Want to watch basic cable (no box) on laptop.?
Probably have to be over USB 2.0. I have a Dell Inspiron 1705 and it has a DVI port but otherwise just USB. All the reviews I can find on tv tuners are for desktops and seem to need to interface to a sound card which in my case isn’t an option. Anyone managed to do this?
haupagge, sells several usb models, these are external boxes, they connect to cable and then to usb. if you are just watching tv then a software version of their pvr is fine. if you want do something on the computer and record shows, get the hardware usb2 pvr that have the hardware encoding of mpeg2. the box does all the processing work, and the pc is just a disk drive.
